FamilyVille (expected 2026)

an educational game showcasing the diversity of Canadian families and marginalized genders

Soft Chaos Cooperative designed and developed an educational video game that aims to teach students in grades 1-6 about diverse families and aligns with the Ontario educational curriculum.

This game involves a Neopets-style overmap with different minigames at different locations. More minigames can be designed and added in the future depending on available resources. At the moment, the games include a comic creator, a meal creation game where players cook for their family according to their needs and preferences, a neighbourhood cleanup and mural painting game where players learn about local plants, recycling and hostile architecture, and visual novel scenes with each family member.

This client work was performed by Soft Chaos Cooperative for EGALE Canada.

This game now has an expected released date of Winter 2026!
